The questions families ask
We serve students from PK 3–4 and K–12. From Grade 8, students may also enroll in our College & Careers division, and our International Academy welcomes students from outside the United States.
Discovery Prep is an online academy. Students work through their coursework at their own pace in a secure online classroom, and live sessions with faculty run alongside it. Meetings with the school are normally virtual, though in-person visits can be arranged by request.
No — the coursework does not require your child to be at a screen at a fixed hour. They work through material at a pace that suits them, and come to scheduled live sessions where faculty examine that work, answer questions, and push the discussion further.
It is a division for students in Grades 8 to 12, taken alongside the core curriculum. Students pursue dual-credit coursework, career pathways, professional skill-building, and leadership development.
Dual-credit and career pathways are matched to each student’s goals during advising. When you apply, our admissions team will walk you through the partner options and pathways currently available to your student.
The International Academy offers residential and international-student support tailored to each family — including supervision, guardianship, and visa guidance. Because these arrangements are individual, we discuss the details with you directly during admissions. Contact us to talk through boarding options.

Four steps. Complete the online inquiry form; submit transcripts or prior school records where they exist; attend a virtual interview and placement review; then receive your admissions decision and enrollment packet. You can start on our enrollment page.
A completed application form, previous school records or transcripts if applicable, proof of residency or identification, and any additional forms requested by the registrar.
Families are welcome to begin the enrollment process at any point in the year. The placement review exists precisely so that a student starts in the right year rather than the convenient one.
Discovery Preparatory Academy is led day to day by the Superintendent and the school leadership team, with oversight from its Board of Directors. An Educational Advisory Committee of educators, community leaders, and subject-matter experts advises on curriculum and student services.
No. Discovery Preparatory Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.
