International Students · F-1 Student Visa
Study in the United States
Discovery Preparatory Academy welcomes students from around the world to earn an American diploma on our U.S. campus — with the academic standards of a college-preparatory school and the personal care of a small one.
A U.S. Education
An American diploma, on our campus
For families abroad who want their child educated in the United States, Discovery Preparatory Academy offers an accredited, college-preparatory program on a physical U.S. campus — taught in English, aligned to American standards, and supported by a team that knows how far from home a new student is.
International students join the same rigorous PK–12 community as every other Discovery Prep student, with dedicated language support and guidance built around the realities of studying in a new country.
The F-1 Student Visa
How international enrollment works
Students who wish to attend school in the United States do so on an F-1 student visa. Here is the path from application to the first day of class.
Apply & be admitted
Complete the international application and submit your academic records. Our admissions team reviews every applicant individually.
Receive your Form I-20
Once admitted — and upon the Academy’s SEVP certification — you receive a Form I-20, the document you need to apply for the F-1 visa.
Apply for the F-1 visa
Pay the SEVIS I-901 fee, complete the visa application, and attend your interview at the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.
Travel & enroll in person
Arrive in the United States and begin classes on campus, with orientation and support from day one.
A note on certification. Discovery Preparatory Academy is currently pursuing certification through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP), which authorizes a school to issue Form I-20 and enroll students on F-1 visas. We accept international applications now and will issue Form I-20 to admitted students upon certification. We do not guarantee the issuance of any visa — that decision rests solely with the U.S. government.
